Cute & Easy Valentine Wreath
My friend made this and I thought it was so cute that I had to make one for myself!
To make one you will need:

*Cupcake liners (any color you like) I chose the hearts for Valentine's Day.

*Straight pins
*Wreath form(I bought mine from the Dollar Tree)

Just take a cupcake liner and bunch it up a little so most of the print or color is showing (kind of like a fan shape) Then take the bunched up paper and using a straight pin, afix to the wreath. I worked in little sections ~ it took me about 30 minutes. I didn't bother doing the back or the inside of the wreath because you can't see either. I think I used approximately 175 liners. When you are finished you can adorn with ribbons, buttons, or anything else you can think of. So easy and cute!

Love Is In The Air!
Yep, love is in the air at our home place and I'm not talking about the "romantic" kind (although I do confess Mr. P is quite the romantic;o) As most of you, I love to celebrate the different seasons and holidays as they roll around. I especially love to decorate in the entry way because that is the first impression that guests receive when they enter our home. Again, it's just those little touches that make such a difference between a house and a home!

As I walked by the table tonight I gazed over at it and it just struck me that it was just so appropriate to have the theme of "love" right next to my two babies. They are truly the epitome of "love" to me! They are not just my "babies," but my pride & joy, my delight, and most of all, my heart. What a blessing they are to me!

Scavenger Hunt (Day 2)
Sideboard
Thanks for joining me for day 2 of the scavenger hunt! I can't tell you how much fun and how much satisfaction I have gotten out of using things I already have on hand. It's amazing when you really start looking what you can find in the "nooks" and "crannies" of your home:o)

First thing I did was fill up this jar with candy hearts (from last year, but don't worry, my family knows where the "edible" goodies are;o) I simply placed a votive candle in the jar (left over from the wedding) added a bow (ribbon left over from wedding) and placed it on one of my favorite saucers! I made two of these. Easy, peasy!

The finished Valentine centerpiece.

All lit up at night!
I am going to continue my scavenger hunt Wed. and Thur. and see what I can come up with. I will be looking for some little touches that can add "warmth" to my home during the coldest month of the year! I would love for y'all to join me by having your own scavenger hunt. You will have so much fun and the best part is you won't have to leave your house or spend a single penny! If you decide to join in the fun please leave your link in the comment section so we can see what you have done!
*Sorry, I'm so nontechnical, I have no idea how to do the mister linky thingie.....
Edited to add: No, you aren't seeing things ~ I deleted two pictures and added two new ones! After looking closely at the pictures that had the salt and pepper angels I gasped in horror because to me they appeared to be a little risque!! (embarrassed face!!) You can't see it in the picture but they have wings in the back ~ BUT, due to the fact that they didn't really look like angels (embarrassed face again;o) I decided to put them back in the "nooks" and "crannies" of my sideboard;o) Are y'all laughing? I am!!! (with an embarrassed face!!)

Scavenger Hunt In My Hutch

To continue along with the idea of not going out and spending money on more "stuff," I decided I would have a little scavenger hunt in my dining room hutch. I was looking for something to display for Valentine's Day in our dining room and I came up with this! I didn't have to leave the house or spend a single cent! Hmm, I wonder what I can find in the side board? Off I go . . . ;o)

Another "Make Do" Monday!

I don't know what it is about Mondays lately, but for some reason I have been in the mood to craft. Remember I told y'all about my goal to use only what I have around the house when I'm making my crafts? Well, I decided I would try to make a Valentine tree using that concept.
I started out with my old Easter tree that I have had for many years.

I then gathered together card stock, old valentine candy from last year that I was saving to make these again, some ribbon and doilies from last year, and two bows that came with a giveaway I won last year at Sharon Kay's! Last but not least, as a tree skirt I used our puppy Jake's bandanna~ don't worry, I'll give it back so he can wear it on the big day!
This is another "make do" project that I really enjoyed. It can be both challenging and rewarding trying to "make do" with what I already have! Who knows what next Monday will bring? :o)

I'm going to keep it in the guest powder room ~ it looks so pretty when it is lit!

Valentine Wreath

A few people had asked to see my Valentine wreath so here it is! As most of you know, I love to decorate seasonally. I use the same grave vine wreath for each holiday. I simply take off the "old" and put on the "new!" I keep the "old" decorations in individual Ziploc bags and I just label and store away. One of the things I love about the Valentine holiday is the simple "homemadeness" (I don't even think that is a word!) of it! As a child I remember bringing out the construction paper and paper doilies and creating "masterpieces" for those I loved. So much better than Hallmark!!

I never spend a lot of money on my seasonal decorations. I simply used the red ribbon (from dollar store) that was left over from my Valentine banner. The white paper hearts were left from the homemade valentines that I made. The angel that is hanging says, "Love one another" and the red heart ribbon were two items I won from Sharon at September Morn!

I also won this darling red tin heart from Sharon. I simply tied a ribbon and attached it to our front door. It is there to greet our guests as they come to visit. Although you can't see it, there are some "goodies" inside so our guests will have a little "treat" as they enter our home!

"Be Mine" Valentine Banner

Here is the Valentine banner I made today. It turned out really cute but it didn't show up well in the picture. I bought all my supplies at the dollar store: card stock, ribbon, doilies and stickers! I had a lot of fun making it!

"Pretty in Pink"

Instead of keeping our Valentine heart candy in our regular candy dish I decided I wanted to do something a little different. I love all the vibrant colors of the candy hearts and I didn't want them to be hidden in a dish. I went on a "scavenger" hunt in my hutch and came up with this vintage saucer to hold the candy! I love how the vibrant colors of the candy look against the pink saucer. Speaking of the candy, isn't it funny how everybody has their "favorite" color to eat?? I have first dibs on all the pink and white ones! YUM:o)

Valentine Centerpiece

I wanted to share with you our Valentine Centerpiece for February. I bought these red carnations for 2.97 and I love them because they last forever! I wanted a special little candle and didn't see any I liked so I decided to make one myself. I bought some Valentine candy hearts at the dollar store and placed them in the bottom of a clear jar. I then brought out two red candles leftover from Christmas and put them in a little tea light holder and placed it on top of the candy. All that was left to do was add some festive heart ribbon! Easy and inexpensive!

A Sweet Find And A Sweet Idea

While Miss Bonnie were out thrifting this weekend I found this darling vintage Valentine tin! I think it is adorable:o) I am going to place it on our fireplace for a little Valentine vignette.

Here is a cute Valentine craft idea that would be fun to do at home with your children. Take an empty valentine candy box and paint it white. You can then either paint or "stamp" pretty Valentine hearts on the front. Tie it all up with a pretty Valentine ribbon and you have a pretty heart to display. As you can see I have mine turned on it's side so it will "stand" up! The best
part of this craft? Why, you get to eat the yummy candy up!!
