Guess What I've Been Up To?
All you have to do is take a look at these pictures of my puppy, Jake, and I'm sure you can guess. I guess the title of the post should have been, What Jake Has Been Into! After shedding many tears I can now laugh about (almost) the incident ~ just imagine puppy dog paw prints made with my beautiful Clair de Lune paint going all the way down our carpeted steps. Sniff, sniff. . . . I was running after him yelling at him to stop and that just caused him to run faster because he thought it was a fun game. Grr! Now, my question to y'all. Can somebody P L E A S E tell me how to remove paint from carpet. If your idea works you will win a free trip to Bermuda (just kidding;o) But, I promise I will love you forever!!
Edited to add: Ladies, thank you SO MUCH for your wonderful advice as well as your sympathies;o) Unfortunately, nothing seemed to do the trick and since new carpeting is NOT in the budget at the moment, we will be admiring Jake's "artwork" for quite awhile! Oh well, at least I don't have to buy a plane ticket to Bermuda;o)

OH NO, Susan - yikes!!!! Sorry that happened to you :( Hmm, I'm not the one to offer advice about getting paint out of carpet - yup, it happened to me once...and I never did get it out :) Hopefully someone out here has an awesome tip for ya!
Have a wonderful day!
P.S. Thanks for coming by to visit and for your sweet compliments - you're so kind-hearted & nice :)
Is the paint oil-based or water-based? One summer, as I was house sitting, the dog I cared for cut his foot and got blood all over the cream-colored carpet. My brother, who at the time sold hand-made Persian rugs, suggested club soda to get the blook out because it would not damage the color of the carpet. Perhaps if the paint is water-based, something like that would help soften it and get the paint to come out.
I would call Sherwin Williams~ They always know what to do :)
Oh, no! I feel so sorry for you! I've had similar painful experiences, but mine were caused by children. :) My carpet was never the same. I hope you find something that works.

Oh you poor thing! My daughter once did tremendous damage with a bottle of nail polish, when she was supposed to be asleep and was trying to paint her toes in the dark!:-) There is a product called "Goo Gone" that's designed to remove sticky residues and it lists "wet" paint among the items it removes. I'm sure the paint is dry by now, but if the paint store doesn't have a better idea, you might give it a try. It helped with the nail polish, although all of that never came up. (It is, however, petroleum based - so after treating the stain with the goo gone, you'll have to treat the goo gone with a degreaser). You can usually find goo gone in Michaels, or JoAnn's or any craft store with the glues. Good luck!!
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear about the paint accident, Susan. I would have cried too. I hope someone has a good suggestion to get it out. ((((hugs)))

Oh no. I wish I had the answer, but I don't. I do know that a friend of mine spilled a whole gallon of paint on her hall carpet in the house they were renting. It was latex, so her husband flooded the area with water and used the wet/dry vac to suction it up. It worked, but it had concrete flooring underneath. If yours is wood, then it's probably not a good solution. Also, I don't know if it would work after it's dried.
Sorry, I guess I took up a lot of space not helping at all. :o(
Good luck!
I know!!! I know!!!! The answer is.... GET NEW CARPET!!! :)
Now... for that trip to Bermuda... :)

Sorry about the doggie pawprints. If you search online you'll find a lot of suggestions for removing paint from carpets. Some seemed good, some didn't, but there are plenty to choose from so one of them might be what you're looking for.
Oh the joys.....and hazards of pets. I hope you find a good solution. Let us know if you find something that works. I need to figure out how to get bright red nail polish off my rug in the bathroom. Sigh.
Thank you for the heads up yesterday.
PS I forgot to tell you I tagged you for a fun meme if you'd like to participate.
