I Apologize

I am disgusted. I clicked on a comment from anonymous in my last post and it led me to a revolting p*r*o site. I have never had this happen before, and I am promptly taking steps to keep it from happening again. Unfortunately, I am going to have to close all anonymous comments. I love hearing from everybody, but I just can't take that chance again. This whole situation just sickens my heart.

Much love,
Susan P.

Unforunately, I completely understand!!!!! I just had to do the same thing. I hate that spammers will do things like this. It ruins it for those who comment anonymously and are earnest about their replies.

So sad!!

I had the same thing happen except I have comment moderation and I didn't see anything unusual about it from my side. A blog reader e-mailed me to let me know it went to a porn site.

By the way, I tried not allowing anon. comments but it cut out a lot of regulars. So, I went to comment moderation.

I'm surprised how much I really like it. I had to do so because of snarky and really nasty remarks from people once in awhile. There have been none since they don't have an audience.

I have some spam now and then but I catch it before it can be published.

I am sorry that happened. I had to stop allowing anoymous comments also because of some unfriendly comments. I just don't understand the world we live in.

For awhile I did the same thing. I did it because it seems like when people can comment anonymously it makes them bold and say things, mean things, they wouldn't normally say if they had to sign their name.

Recently I decided to try allowing them again because as Brenda said, it cuts out a lot of commenters. Some people just don't want to have a Google account.

I figure since I moderate my comments that I can catch anything bad before it gets to my blog. I *really* like the control that comment moderation gives to me.

I am a bit confused though, if the comment was anonymous how did they have something to click on, was there a link in their comment or something?

I'm sorry this happened to you, it's always so disturbing when it does.

Blessings,
