I Just Couldn't Do It............
When it came time to press the key, I just couldn't do it. Believe me when I say that nobody is more surprised than I am. Just as I was reaching for the delete button, I started feeling that if I pressed it, it would be like I was "deleting" a little bit of myself. A flood of emotion overtook me as I started to think about all the memories that have been recorded in this little blog, and most especially, all the many treasured friendships that have been made because of it. How in the world could I say good-bye to all of that?

When I first started blogging it wasn't nearly as popular as it is now. Very quickly I connected with dear kindred spirits, and that connection brought me great joy. I absolutely loved that I was able to share my heart through the written word, and was so happy and surprised that anybody would even care to read what I had written! As I continued to blog I still got immense pleasure out of posting and commenting on other blogs, but something was happening in the blog world that I felt like I couldn't, and didn't want to, keep up with. Sadly, for me, the dear, sweet simplicity of blogging was gone.

As I looked around, blogging seemed to have taken on a whole new life of it's own. Followings, stats, awards, etc...... My head started spinning and I wondered," how in the world can I keep up with all of this?" The answer became very clear to me. Number one, I couldn't. Number two, I didn't want to. So, quite simply, I had a decision to make, and you know what it was. However, during my blogging break, it became very apparent to me that I was giving up the very thing that I loved. Plain and simple, I love to write! I love to share my heart, as well as my life with you. So, even though I won't be "keeping" up with all of the new things in the blog world, I will continue to do what I love! For those of you who still want to read what I have to say, I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Much love,

Susan P.

Susan,
I am so excited that you are going to continue to write. I have missed you and your posts so much. You inspire me to be a better mom and to keep our home special. I love your writing and I know it is a gift from God. You also get me excited about fall and all seasons for that matter to anything you write! :)

I don't keep up with all the blog stats etc.. I write when I feel like it and if God places something on my heart to encourage another. Welcome back!
Blessings,
Patty

Hi Susan ~ Welcome back! I had taken you off of Bloglines, so I'm appreciative of Mrs U announcing your return on her blog. I have been AWOL for about a month myself.
Hopefully, I can talk myself into a post soon!

Oh Susan! I've so missed your encouraging and sweet posts, dear friend! I'm so happy you're still going to share your heart whenever you can! I have not been blogging much myself lately, but I still turn to my favorite kindred spirit gals when I need an encouraging word or just a bit of inspiration. I was thrilled when I saw 'new posts' on my Bloglines Thank you for coming back! I can't wait to hear all about your 'grandmother' moments and that sweet little grandbaby!
Yay for A Place Called Home!
Hugs,
Amy O.

Oh, happy day!

Both you and Mrs. Wilt are back in the same week. It doesn't get any better than that. :)

I had to do some things on my blog to simplify it. For instance, when I get an aware now I thank the person on their blog but don't mention it on mine.

It was a nice problem, having too many awards, but it stressed me trying to keep up with them. I even deleted the ones I had off my blog.

I also went to comment moderation and found I no longer had snarky remarks. I guess because they didn't have an audience. :)

LOVE that you are back. I've missed you.

I'm *so glad* you're back!

I know what you mean--I think you and I started around the same time (I used to blog under the name 'Mrs. B') and it does seem like blogging became quite complicated.

Like Brenda, when I receive an award, I go to their blog and thank them but I don't do anything on mine, it just became too much.

Blessings,
~Michele

I am glad you decided to keep blogging. I stop by occasionally as I have time. I personally don't follow all the shoulds of blogging either. Sometimes I blog 3-4 times a day and then maybe nothing for 2 weeks. I don't have a central theme which everyone says I have to have. I am a bit odd and so is my blog. Its whatever appeals to me currently. I blog for myself not others.

Mrs. P. I just today decided one more time to see if you were back to blogging and to my delight you are. Your grandson is adorable so I can see why you stopped but I am glad you have decided to return. Cheryl
