Why I Love Mondays

I can already hear the "boos" and "hisses!" Please don't hate me ~ I know I am in the minority on this, but I just love Mondays. I think it has something to do with a brand new week stretching before me, filled to the brim with possibilities. A fresh start, a new beginning!! With the weekend there usually comes fun and a lot of unstructured time and I do love that. However, there is something in my soul that just craves routine. Okay, I'm hearing more "boos" out there:) Especially with all the craziness and clutter that Christmas brings, I think I feel like my life is "cluttered" and "crazy," as well, and I DO NOT like that feeling at all!

So this morning found me doing what I love to do in my home. After my quiet time I started on several loads of laundry, so right now I can hear the the washer and dryer humming along:) The floor has been swept and mopped, counters thoroughly cleaned, trash emptied, shined kitchen sink, (if you follow Fly Lady you know how important this is;)

started dinner prep
Made bread, rolls, and a cinnamon loaf ~ I wish you could smell how good it smells here right now........ And yes, I know I'm a messy cook:)

Started chopping ham for the pea soup we are having for dinner
Filled the fruit bowl with oranges ~ a healthy snack that is easy reach for my family;)
While I'm busy with my Monday morning chores I like to have some peppy music playing in the back ground and a yummy candle burning. This is my new fav~ it's called Cafe Au Lait~ funny thing is I don't like coffee at all, but I love the smell of it brewing. Go figure!!

Once I have everything clean and shiny I immediately start to feel better. (I think it's a "control" issue, y'all;) By the end of the day I'm tired, but it's a good tired. I have worked hard caring for my home, and I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing. Okay, I'm off to clean the den!
I won't even talk about how I feel about rainy days.....................................:)

I just love your love for life! The rolls looked so good and I cannot believe how shiny your sink is, I like my kitchen sink to be shiny and clean and my family thinks I am crazy. lol

I have to know what you think and or do on rainy days. :)

We are expecting a lot of rain tomorrow and I like to read or watch movies and of course have something good cooking for dinner.

Blessings,
Patty

I've just strolled into your charming blog for the first time. I agree...Monday always brings new wishes to be granted.
Homemade rolls with splitpea soup, YUM! What time is dinner? :)

Sweet Wishes,

May I come over to your house, pretty please? :)

I thought I was the only one that enjoyed Mondays! Something about the laundry going, decluttering the house and a good candle burning spreads a "calmness" through out. Guess I have a "control issue" too haha
Thanks for sharing......

I am with you Susan...I love routine and function much better when I have all my ducks in a row. I will have to look for that Yankee Candle...sounds like it would be one I would enjoy.

I'm with you, Susan...I feel so much better when things are straightened up and uncluttered (especially right now - I seem to rest better).

Boy, do those rolls ever look delicious!

Have a wonderful week :)

While I don't like Mondays (I work full time) I do love everything cleaned and uncluttered after Christmas. It gives me a peaceful feeling around our home.

Happy New Year

Mondays are a favorite around here too. Probably that's because The weekends are so busy for a Pastor & wife! :) My husband too likes the coffee smell but not the coffee and I only drink it once in a while I will have to check that one out. I fly lady but my 55+ yo sink never gets that shiny. It was nice to see yours! Jack is 5 today, so he gets to choose what's for dinner.
Happy day to you...

I can relate to this. I do better with structure and can get a lot more accomplished when I am the only one at home. Also I love that I can clean up and it stays that way - at least for a few hours.

I just finished the split pea soup I made last week. Love it. Did you make your rolls in the bread machine? They look scrumptious.

The candle sounds wonderful. I will have to check that one out.

I'm so glad you stopped by. I got to see another photo of your cute baby grandson. Isn't it a wonderful feeling when things are clean and the wash in running. My house is a mess. Christmas boxes everywhere. My goal is to have it clean before I leave for my son's basketball game. I better get a move on and stop blogging. I needed a break. I will return to see more. Blessings...Sherry
