Do y'all know what I'm loving lately? Black paint! I have it in the spray form as well as the kind you apply with a brush. It is amazing the transormation that comes about with just a little bit of paint. Continuing on with the theme of decorating on a budget I thought I'd show you what I've done with a few pictures. For two my project this is what I bought:
I decided I wanted to display some family pictures so I bought the letter P (unpainted) and painted it black. I then attached gingham ribbon and added the picture frames. I love how it turned out! I haven't added pictures yet (I've been too busy trying to figure out how to get paint out of the carpet;o) but I plan on adding black and white pics of me and Mr. P, Gerry & Ashley, and Miss Bonnie. You could also do this in white or any other color you might like. I have seen these letters in the pottery barn catalog for about a gazillion dollars ~ I think I like this alternative better;o)

Great job, Susan! Paint is my favorite decorating tool. I have a can of red spray I hope to put to good use soon.
Hi Susan,
I love it! I have a hallway that needs a redo, maybe something like that would work. You have been quite busy around your home and it looks lovely!
Blessings,
Sharon
Susan ~ Everything looks so beautiful! I can't decide on which post to put my comment - lol. You have very elegant taste, Lady-Lady! :o) I really like the little touches of black in each area, the wrought iron, the bathroom mirror, the magnolia arch over your round mirror, the sheers draped in your bedroom (with the sham - clever!). All.so.very.pretty!
I also enjoyed your touches of spring decor. So airy and fun. You and Mr. P and Miss Bonnie looked awfully carefree as you enjoyed that lovely spring weather. Hope it lasts! :o)
Re: Your "Jake" carpet problem. When we were putting our house on the market a little over a year ago, Bridget (then 7 y.o.) let the dog come rushing in the back door without realizing we'd put the dog out there for a reason. Brian was doing a last minute paint touchup in the hallway before the real estate agent arrived (literally due at any moment). The dog stepped in the paint and left a trail on our new hardwood floors before Brian could catch him. Fortunately we were able to wipe it right up. I'd love to tell you I was cool, calm and collected and sweet as apple pie. I'd love to tell you that - but uh - think more along the lines of panic and lemon juice! Not my best moment. Maybe your paint trail will come up over time. Hugs to you!
PS. Your new header is gorgeous!!
Oh I LOVE this idea, Susan! I've been eyeing a particular wall in our home that is in need of sprucing up. I think this is the perfect idea!! You are so very creative!
His,
Mrs. U
