A Touch Of Whimsy
The dictionary describes whimsy as an endearing quaintness or oddity: the quality of being slightly odd or playfully humorous, especially in an endearing way. I decided that it would be fun if I brought a touch of whimsy into our dining room! When we painted a few years ago I decided that the chandelier needed a little something to "warm" it up a bit. I found these sweet little shades at our local craft store for a few dollars each. The color of the shades blended in really well with the draperies, carpet and walls. This past week as I was on my "hunt" to find things around my home to "recycle" I decided that instead of my tea cups being in the hutch the chandelier would be the perfect place to display them! I know, I know, sounds a little crazy, but hey, a little crazy is good for us sometimes!! I am tickled pink with the results. What can you do to add a little touch of whimsy to your home?

I love your little touch of whimsy!! The cups are a lovely touch!
I like to add little snippets of whimsy here and there, too. The example that comes immediatley to mind is the little grace mouse I asked Dani to paint near the baseboard in a corner of my laundry room!
I never in a million years would have thought to do that but it looks real cute. Guess I need to learn to think out of the box more.
