Storing Up

The cold winter winds have blown our way and I can always tell when we are going to have a bad storm just by looking out my kitchen window at my bird feeders. Every feeder was filled to the brim with my feathered friends! They instinctively know when bad weather is coming so they prepare by "storing up" before the storms hit. That got me to thinking that the birds are teaching us a very important lesson. As Christians we don't want to wait until the "storms of life" hit before we seek and know the Lord. What we need to do is to "store up" NOW by being in the Word and having an intimate relationship with him. When the storms of life do come our way we will be prepared to weather them.

Susan,
Thank you for the posting on birds and our relationship to our gracious Lord.
I always find comfort in the scripture that talks about that He even knows when a sparrow falls. Surely He is concerned about my welfare.

Amen, amen and amen!!!! SOOO many people only run to the Word when trouble comes instead of feeding daily like we all need to.

Wonderful post!
