An Encouraging Word
Now that both of my "babies" are grown I find I am entering a new "season" in my life. I am finding that I have a little bit of free time to explore some new interests that I might enjoy.I do spend a lot of this time doing volunteer work but I found I still had some extra time that I wanted to use wisely. That is one reason I was able to start this blog. It has been such a joy to meet and talk with like-minded women. I also felt like I was at a season in my life where if I could offer help to younger women I wanted to be able to do that as well. Anyway, I have digressed! I have decided that "one is never too old to learn." Through much trial and error I have been able to master some of the computer skills (although I do have a LONG way to go LOL) and it got me to thinking there were some other new things I might like to try as well, which leads me to the reason for this post. As you can see by the picture I have decided to "take up" drawing. You will notice the book entitled, Drawing For Dummies, well, I would be the "dummy!" I must say that all that fresh, unmarked white paper and those newly sharpened pencils are an exciting sight but they can also be a little daunting. Not to fear, though! I will try my best and if I find drawing is not for me I will explore other things. This can be an exciting time in a woman's life. Don't be afraid, don't think you are too old, don't get discouraged. Explore your options, I know there is something out there that will be perfect for you!!
What would you like to try?

Good for you, Susan!! Persevere in your new hobby. Your artistic talents show in the decorating of your beautiful home. I'm sure those same talents will bloom in your sketch pad!
Best wishes in your new endeavor! I'm very sure you will do great! Don't forget to "share" with us...

Good luck to you Susan! I've always wanted to learn to play the piano...
Mrs. Linebarger, thank you so much for the kind words and the encouragement. BTW, I received a most beautiful note in the mail today from somebody very special:0)
Jennifer, thanks so much for the well wishes. I "might" share, we'll see!! HA HA!
Kim, do you have a piano in your home?!! I could learn to draw and you could learn to play! We can encourage each other!
Beautiful post! I'm sure you'll do well, or at least, have fun trying!
I would like to sometime learn to play the fiddle (like, folk-music style).
Barbara
g.l.h., both my great, great uncles could play the fiddle. I have one of them hanging on my wall and sadly I just admire it, I don't know how to play. I think that is wonderful that you would like to learn to play the fiddle! That could be a new hobby:0)
*Okay, now I am laughing hysterically. I reread my response to you and it sounded like I was telling you I had one of my Uncles hanging on the wall!!LOL **I promise I don't!
Clarice, thanks for the encouraging words! What a wonderful hobby for your whole family.
I think it's wonderful that you are trying something new! Let us know how it goes.
Blessings,
Mrs. C
