The Gloves

These are my Grammy's gloves.
They hearken me back to a kinder, gentler time.
As my mind wanders I like to imagine all the times she wore the gloves.
All the people she embraced, all the tears she wiped, all the hands she held
and all the times she clasped her hands in prayer.
Through this she showed compassion, love, empathy, and most importantly, she demonstrated great faith.
Although my hands will never fit in these gloves
It is something that I will always aspire to do.

Elizabeth, I am so glad you found me! It sounds like we have a lot in common, we were both blessed with wonderful grandparents! Please know the welcome mat is always out for you!

Beautiful thoughts about your grandmother. I also have a pair of gloves from each of my grandmas, which bring back many happy memories.
