An Early Christmas Present
I wanted to share with you a picture of this beautiful pie safe that Mr. P got for me as an early Christmas gift. A retired older gentleman makes hand-crafted furniture as a hobby, and I am blessed to be a recipient of one of his beautiful pieces. I have always loved furniture that has been lovingly hand-made, as opposed to those pieces that are produced in a factory. I appreciate the fine workmanship that goes into each piece and nothing smells better than wood that has been freshly cut!
The reason I wanted a pie safe is because I really needed more space to store things in my kitchen. I have a very teeny, tiny kitchen with only a few cabinets, and as a result, I have never been able to really "stock up" on groceries. Well, thanks to dear Mr. P I am excited to say that now I can! I'm finding that there isn't a better time to stock up on groceries as now, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Most of the essential baking supplies, canned vegetables, soups, etc.. can be found at reduced prices. I have also purchased a lot of "buy one, get one free" deals, (I'm sure you can tell by the pics) which I am so grateful for.
The best part is that not only can I "stock up" for my own family, but it also gives me the opportunity to help others, too. Our local food bank supply is getting dangerously low (as I'm sure they are all around our country), and this is such a perfect way to share one's abundance with others. If you are looking for ways to help others, especially during the Christmas season, donating to your local food bank would certainly be a great blessing to others!

What a beautiful piece of furniture. Mr P has excellent taste and so do you. I love it.
God bless.
That is beautiful!
My husband's M. S. degree is in Wood Science & Furniture Engineering. They threw sawdust instead of rice at our wedding. :)
That kind of furniture will be around for future generations.
Love love love that pie safe. You always encourage me to make my home a special place Susan.
That is a beautiful piece. Love it!
What a nice Christmas present from Mr. P. It is beautiful and extra special because it was handcrafted.
