JOY BEYOND MEASURE!!

For those of you who have been reading my blog for awhile, you know that my son and daughter-in-love got married last September. Y'all were with me every step of the way on that journey and now a new journey is about to begin!

Ashley and Gerry came over Saturday night to celebrate Gerry's birthday with us. Instead of having a birthday celebration we ended up having another celebration instead! Just before Gerry was to open up his gifts he told me that Ashley had written a poem and she wanted me to read it out loud. I thought it must be for Gerry's birthday so I took the poem and started reading it to everybody. This is what it said....

Well, by the time I was at the end of the second line it hit me ~ I am going to be a grandmother!!!! I almost fell out of my chair with excitement and couldn't get to them fast enough to give hugs and kisses!!!! I feel so incredibly blessed, first because God gave us such an amazing daughter-in-love, and now a precious baby will be added to our family! I told Mr. P today that I felt such joy that I thought my heart was going to burst :o)

Ashley even made these darling shirts for the three of us to wear!

So now the poem has a most prominent place in our home. It will serve as a very special reminder of the precious little blessing that will soon join our family! I hope y'all can join me on this most wonderful journey, too :o)

With great joy and much love,
Susan P.

Congratulations my friend! What a wonderful way to start my morning by reading this.

I still remember how thrilled I was when I found out Elizabeth was on the way. Although I have to admit, I always let it sink in...

I a.m. g.o.i.n.g. t.o. b.e. a. G.R.A.N.D.M.O.T.H.E.R? Where did the time go. How did I get old enough to be a grandmother.

Hehehe, then... of course, the hugely wonderful emotions took over. They are precious.

There is nothing to compare to holding a new baby. I'm so happy for you. I have 3 grandchildren! Wait till you can hear the baby's heartbeat. You can't believe how awesome that is (if she will let you go with her to an appointment)!
