This & That Tuesday
As I sit here this evening I am holding hand to jaw ~ I spent almost three hours in the dentist's chair this morning. (UGH) In regards to the bill I will have to pay, (DOUBLE UGH;O)
After leaving the dental office I went to our local school and cast my ballot because this is Primary Day in Virginia. Oh, what an HONOR & PRIVILEGE it is to enter the voting booth! Not only is it an honor and a privilege but as Americans I feel it is our responsibility to let our voices be heard. We are so blessed to live in this wonderful country where democracy reigns and each one of us has a voice. Okay, this is at the point where I stand up, put hand to heart, and start singing, "God Bless America!" SERIOUSLY . . . .
For those of you who donated to the Blessings Box for Deena I just wanted to let you know I mailed it off yesterday morning (Mon.) and I'm hoping it will reach her tomorrow(Wed). The outpouring of love you showed her was truly heartwarming and I have no doubt that it will "bring a little sunshine into her day," as we had all hoped.
Well, I have some progress to report on the bedroom makeover. The walls are completely done and now the only thing left to do is the trim. I am super happy with the way it is turning out and the wheels are already spinning in my head as to what I can "scavenge" in my own house to decorate the room with! I seriously have SOOO much fun doing this, and it is certainly is easy on the pocketbook! lol I'll post pictures when the project is finally completed.

This was the scene at our kitchen table this past Sunday afternoon. Miss Bonnie and I were in the midst of a Valentine card making frenzy. As you can see by the pictures, WE ARE VERY, VERY MESSY CRAFTERS;O) Also, showing up in the picture are absolute essentials for every crafting session, gummy worms for Miss Bonnie, and Reese's peanut butter cups for me. I know, I know, but goodness knows crafting does burn a lot of calories, doesn't it?
Speaking of Valentines. I am planning a special menu for me and my sweetie for that evening. There will be a yummy meal , candles, china, and a most scrumptious dessert called "Death By Chocolate!" Need I say more? I am a big believer in making things by hand whenever possible and I just love trying to come up with a special card for Mr. P each year! What are y'all's plans for Valentine's Day this year? Whatever they are, CHOCOLATE SIMPLY MUST BE INVOLVED!
Miss Bonnie is not here at the moment. She has taken over the responsiblity of caring for a most wonderful 85 year (young) woman! She goes over to her home on Tuesday morning and then returns Wed. night. This allows her daughter a chance to get out of the house and have a little bit of a break. Miss Glenna is a "sharp as a tack" and according to Miss Bonnie, plays a mighty mean game of scrabble. Have I told y'all lately how proud I am of my baby?!!
Well, I think that's about all the "this" and the "that's" that I know! I don't know if I will continue this or not~ could y'all please give me some feedback on it and also if there are any future posts you would like me to do. I have been doing this for almost two years now and sometimes the "well seems to run dry!" I hope that each one of you has a peaceful, warm, and cozy evening.

Much love,

Susan P.

Oh, Susan, I feel your pain(almost)! I sure do hope that you're feeling better. I still have to wait a couple of weeks to finish up my "work". :(

I love your "this and that" idea. I always love reading about a slice of everyday life. And, I've been reading your blog for about a year now, and I think your well is far from dry! :-) Love all your posts, and your sweet spirit!!

I think you are some very busy gals! I hope you're feeling better today.
You have a beautiful blog, and it never ceases to bless me when I visit here, Susan. You're very talented.
Ms. Bonnie is a sweetie. I wish more young ladies were like her. You've done an excellent job. :o)

I wish I'd known about the Blessings Box for Deena. I've read some of her blog and she seems like a very courageous lady.

You should be very proud of your daughter for wanting to help/work with the elderly. In so many cultures, the older one gets, the more they are respected. It doesn't seem that way here a lot of the time. My dogs are therapy dogs and we visit at an assisted living facility and a nursing home. I know some of the people are very lonely.

Re: "this and that". I'm not sure if you are asking if you should continue a post with a variety of subjects, or if you're asking about continuing your blog. I've recently found you and all of your comments are very interesting and I like your blog. Please continue with both.
