The Lord has placed this on my heart to write and I wanted to share it with you ~ especially being mindful of those of us who are suffering through some serious trials in their lives right now.
Oh, these dark, dark days of winter
Seem to last so long
Oh, how I wish that it were spring
And I could hear the robin’s song.
Blue skies would chase the clouds away
And the sun would sweetly shine
Gentle breezes would blow upon my back
Oh my, it sounds so fine.
And the sleepy little bulbs
Would wake and start to rise
Their pretty little heads
Up towards the bright blue skies.
As much as I would love
For Spring to come again
I trust that the Lord above
Has the perfect plan.
You see, it’s through those dark, cold days
When hope seems all but gone
The Lord will place inside my heart
A most wonderful glorious song.
The melody is beautiful
And the words are oh, so sweet
Don’t you know my precious child
That’s when we need to meet?
For although I can’t take away
All the storms of life
I will carry you lovingly through
Your worries and your strife.
Just put your trust in me, dear one
And hand in hand we’ll go
Through the storms together
The wind, and cold, and snow.
And although you might not understand
Why you must weather the awful storm
One thing is for certain
I'll always keep you warm.
Please know I’ll never leave your side
In good times and in bad
No matter what the day
Whether you’re happy or you’re sad.
You see, it’s through the trials of life
I'm here to see you through
Although I cannot always turn
Your gray skies into blue.
It is me and me alone
Who can put spring back in your heart
Just put your faith and hope in me
And Spring will never depart.
The storms can be raging all around
The cold and rain and snow
You feel you're barely hanging on
But I promise to never let you go.
And as a little reminder
I have placed below the ground
A sleepy little bulb
That doesn't make a sound.
But soon enough it will awake
And slowly start to rise
It's pretty sleepy little head
Up towards the bright blue skies!
