And So It Begins . . .

The "dreaded" task of taking down wallpaper. UGH! If you have ever done this then you know EXACTLY what I'm talking about. Mr P and I decided that we were going to give our bedroom a little "makeover" this winter and before we can begin all of the wallpaper needs to come down.

If you look closely at the wall you can see where we had written the date of when we put the paper up. I remember the day so well because we gave each child a pencil and told them to "go to town" with their drawings! Can you imagine a child's pure delight over that? lol Since I'm an old sentimental softie I'm going to take pictures of their artwork before we paint so I can put them in my scrapbook!

Will keep y'all updated on the progress. I'm still in the deciding phase so far as colors, etc.. but I do have a few things in mind. Hmm.....decisions, decisions;o)

We did the same thing in a kitchen we remodeled. We took the sheetrock off the walls and gave the girls a permanent marker to draw with. Such great memories and how great for you to have seen it again. Can't wait to see what you do!

Boy do I understand wallpaper!!! We live in our church's parsonage and it is FILLED with wallpaper!! We've got one room left to go- the kitchen- and I TOTALLY DREAD IT!!! The wallpaper is 80s country and does not fit with the rest of our house. LOL! One day I know we will just dive in and do it, but I do NOT look forward to that day!!! HAHA!!

what fun to uncover the cute things the children wrote on the walls 10 years ago!!!
I'll bet the children will get a blast remembering what they wrote...

I have three bathrooms with wallpaper in them that was here when we bought the house. It's not a big job, but for some reason we've never gotten around to removing it so that I can put up something pretty. Two of them look like a generic texture print like you might see in a doctor's office while the third is a small floral print that is actually very nice except that the previous resident chose orange flowers. Yuck. Doesn't go with the current rose, forest green, and blue color scheme. Good luck with your project. Maybe I'll someday do at least one of mine.

I have a piece--a small piece--stripped off my master bath wall. That was 2 years ago. Sigh. It's the last paper in the house to go and I cannot bring myself to start the dreaded task. Want to come over and get me motivated?
