My First Sewing Adventure
Porch Cushions
Some of you may remember this post awhile back. Life has been so hectic lately that I really hadn't had a good chance to sit down and see what I could do with my new sewing machine. I was determined that I was going to get busy and sew something over the holiday weekend. I had so much fun going picking out my fabric ~ I decided that some of the porch cushions were looking a little "shabby" so that would be my first project. I had so much fun doing it, the time just seemed to fly by. They say that's what happens when you're having fun, right? LOL For those of you expert seamstresses, please don't look too closely, I'll "cringe" and start to have flashbacks of my mean home-ec teacher again!! (Just kidding;o)

Susan ~ I'm so impressed with your first sewing project! You even appliquéd a heart on one of the pillows ~ It's darling!

Love that crisp blue color and the contrast in the patterns on the fabrics. It makes the room seem brighter -- but cooler -- all at the same time. Nice job! :o)

Oh, Susan, good for you! The cushions are so pretty, and that blue just "pops" against the white wood and wicker! Job well done!

Great job, Susan! I knew you could do it....you're very crafty!
I love your choices of fabrics, too! I would like to make a "retro" skirt out of the print on the cushion of the rocker!
Everything looks very inviting!

Susan, you did a wonderful job! I love the fabric, it is so bright and happy...perfect for summer! It's so pretty with your white wicker. Can you tell me how you made that "rolly" pillow? Grace thinks I need one on my bed but they are $30.00 at the store so it's not going to happen! LOL
Enjoy your porch!

Kelli, I didn't want to spend any money on a pillow form so all I did was take one of the thin chair pads that I was no longer using and rolled it up!
