One Step At A Time
As I gaze upon these steps I am reminded of life's journey. We have several options that we can choose from as to how we climb those steps, and even more importantly, how we live our lives. The first option is that we can stand at the bottom and look up thinking we will never have the strength to climb all those steps. We feel heavily burdened just thinking about the monumental task before us. A feeling of despair comes over us just thinking about the work that lies ahead of us.
We also have another option. We could run up the steps as quickly as we could, without ever giving notice to anything or anyone in between. Our only goal would be to get from point A to point B as fast as possible. If we choose this way we will miss all the wonder and beauty that life has to offer along the way. We are so busy focusing on getting "to the top," or "the great thing that lies ahead," we are completely missing the experience of our wonderful journey.
The final option is my favorite and how I try to live my life. We can deliberately and sure-footedly take one step at a time. On each step we can stop and look around and appreciate what is happening in the present. We can take in all the love, all the beauty, and everything else this wonderful life has to offer us.
Those steps represent our journey in life. It's entirely up to us how we choose to climb them!

So true! I liked this post :)
Pretty steps too, I could look at that picture all day for some reason, very homey to me.

Good analogy, Susan. I'm with you, I don't want to rush, either.
Wonderful post, Susan!!

Living life deliberately as a Christian ~ that is truly a good way to live. Very nice post!
Wonderful reminder to enjoy the journey of life. The Lord has much to say about living in TODAY and keeping all our attention focused there. We can't change yesterday, and we can't project into tomorrow. Thanks for reminding us of this truth.
What a wonderful post, and good thoughts for meditation today! (Pretty staircase, too).

Right now I am at the bottom looking up at all I have to do. Usually, I am flying up the stairs taking 2 at a time! Thanks for the remainder. I want to slow down and do what I need to do and encourage those around me, just for today.......
You continue to encourage and challenge me into a life of a godly woman. As I said recently on my blog, I consider you like my Titus Mom! Teaching me to live the way God's Word teaches. Thank you so much - I am edified and encouraged after visiting with you each day...
Love,
Monica
What a beautiful post. I find myself rushing up "the stairs" far too often. Thanks for the reminder to slow down.
What a wonderful post. I too wish to take my time and enjoy each step along the way as get closer to the prize.
I am encouraged by your post today...
A great analogy Susan... and I also love your beautiful stairs.

I should come back and read this every morning for a reminder. Thanks, Susan! Your stairs are lovely, too.
