Jelly Bean Fun

Nothing says Spring more to me that a bag of beautiful jelly beans. Now granted, they are yummy to eat, but they are also a wonderful way to decorate inexpensively around your home!

An old mason jar filled with jelly beans and bright spring ribbon to tie it up! Doesn't it just "pop"with color?

Here I used little candle holders with tea lights nestled on top. In the fall they contained popcorn (unpopped) and candy corn, at Christmas they had cranberries, and in Feb. I used candy hearts. I did the same thing for the large hurricane globe below.

It's hard to tell but this is a big hurricane globe that has a large candle inside. If I could give one helpful decorating suggestion it would be to try and find a hurricane globe either at a yard sale, thrift store or just buy one. It is one of the most versatile decorating pieces you can have because it is so easy to change the look to reflect a season or a mood. In the summer I plan to put sand in it and have seashells gathered around. The same holds true with small votive holders! Another helpful suggestion is to have a ribbon box that you can keep all of your ribbon in. Every season I open my box and I have the appropriate ribbon to use! I'll be back tomorrow with one more Spring decorating idea. Hope to see you then! In the meantime, I hope you have some jelly bean fun of your own!

What a great idea! I don't care for jellybeans to eat (probably too many consumed in childhood LOL), but their colors sure are 'purty' for decorating! I'm going to try this!

What I absolutely love about you is that your ideas are re-creatable and inexpensive, yet they look so pretty and festive. You prove that you don't have to spend a fortune to make your home special.
These are great ideas. I also save ribbon, except the ones that get exposed to the weather. They usually don't make it another year. LOL.
Lovely ideas, Susan

This is absolutely adorable. I love jelly beans, and you're right...the colors just bring decorations to life. Whenever my husband gets back and we get back into another house, I will definately be referring back to your decorating sense!

Oh wow, I love the jelly bean idea. It reminds me of my Mom's decorating sense. For Easter she has candle holders filled with pastel colored M&M's. I love getting new ideas. Especially cheap ones :)

Hi Susan,
OHHH, I love your decorations--I love that it is frugal too--and so springy:)

I am on the lookout for a hurricane globe--I will let you know when I find one. I do have something kind of similiar to one, but not exact--and that one I do have shells in--it is in my guest bathroom--I will take a picture of it and show you:)

looking forward to your next post:)
