The Blanket
Snow is like a blanket that
God spreads across the land,
Where wheat and oats and barley sleep,
Awaiting God's command.

It covers all the pasture fields,
And hides the grasses brown:
It gives the bare, gray willow tree
A clinging, wooly gown.

It wraps around a fencepost tall,
And covers up its head,
Then drifts along the meadow banks
To tuck the creek in bed.

There is nothing more nourishing on a cold winter's day that a bowl of homemade chicken noodle soup. It's good for the body as well as the soul!

Oh, your soup looks so good, my mouth is watering! I'll have to put chicken soup on my menu for this week! :0) I LOVE seeing your little feathered friends. I spent time watching out my front window today. I was just telling my mom that I hadn't seen any Juncos yet this year and then I saw one! We also had a huge hawk have a nap in the tree across the street. That was fun to watch!
Talk to you soon,
Kelli
