A Smile From Above

One lone perfect rose retrieved from the rosebush outside my kitchen window. The last rose to bloom until spring. We have had many cold frosty nights but this beauty decided to bloom for a special occasion. For my son's engagement party I chose to use the one perfect rose instead of going out and buying a fancy bouquet. Reason? The rosebush that this rose came from was given to us by my dear Grammy and Grandaddy. My grandparents adored my son and would have so loved to have been with us to help us celebrate. In my heart I feel like this was a sign that they were celebrating right alongside us giving us a smile from above!

Funny that you should post about the last rose before the frost. When I left for work this morning I found the last two roses from our garden on the windshield of my car! DH does that periodically throughout the summer (isn't he wonderful!), but I thought that we were done until next year. It was a lovel surprise this morning!

Congrats on your son's engagement!

that was beautiful about the rose. I beleive that too about things in my life. The teacup night light was lovely, I too am a lover of teacups, and the story about your mom was very touching. Ill probably remember that as a story of true courage. Thanks so much

The Friday Favorites post made me smile and The Rose From Above brought tears to my eyes. Another poster, Maggie Ann, would say this was a gentle hug from God and I agree! What a sweet reminder!

Christina, thank you so much for visiting. I appreciate your kind words so much.

Mary, ah, a "gentle hug," that's exactly what it was!

Becca, yes, it was the best kind of sign!
