Friday Show And Tell

Memorabilia Box

This picture was taken in our guest room. It is one of my favorite rooms in our home because it is a room filled with "memories." I have it made up to be very old fashioned and I think it is quite cozy and comfy for our guests. The reason I say it is filled with "memories" is because almost everything in there was either made, owned, or given to us by our families. The deacons bench was made by my late dear father-in-love and the sun bonnet Sue quilt that is draping over the back was made by my great grandmother. (the one whose picture I showed you last show and tell)

The box above the bench is called a memorabilia box and it was made by my Mama for my grandparents 50th anniversary many years ago. It's contents are absolutely priceless: a treasured and well worn bible, a baby shoe , an engagement ring, an old snuff box, a hankie, a railroad spike (my great grandaddy work on railroad construction) coins, medals, a lock of baby hair, etc..... Inside the box are a lifetime of memories and it is something I will treasure the rest of my life!

Please join our hostess Kelli for some more wonderful show and tell links!
