Books Of Beauty

I wanted to share with y'all one of my very favorite books. Why is it one of my favorites? I think it is because it has a combination of two things I dearly love: beautiful seasonal poetry and beautiful watercolor paintings. When I found this book, The Nature Notes Of An Edward Lady by Edith Holden
I knew it was going to have to come home with me and be a part of my treasured collection. Amongst the pages are her beautiful seasonal watercolor paintings along with her observations, poems, and anctedotes sprinkled throughout. The book is divided by months and I love the beginning of each new month because it is a true celebration ~ a celebration of the ever changing landscape and also God's beautiful creatures that inhabit it. Her work is so lovely that it has even inspired me to take pencil in hand and do some drawing myself;o)
I believe in leaving books out to enjoy and I was tickled when I found this stand (with a bird atop) to place the book on!! Now as I walk by I can enjoy the beautiful work of this very talented lady! If you love the changing and celebrating of the seasons I know you will definitely love this excellent book. Next on my wish list is The Country Diary Of An Edwardian Lady!
Do you have any special books that you like to keep out to enjoy over and over again?

Susan, I have books that I leave out on my tables, but I love your display idea. That looks like a beautiful book that I need to find!

I bought a copy of this recently. It's wonderful! Yours looks so lovely on the stand~perfect. I shared mine with my British neighbor when they were over here recently. She was familiar with many of the plants and really enjoyed it.
