Rainy Day Projects
We are having a very wet and windy day here in Virginia. The rain is coming down in sheets and we have 40 m.p.h. wind gusts! My plan for the day WAS to do errands but I decided to rethink that because of the inclement weather. If I can't do Plan A I will do Plan B! After doing my scheduled work around the house I have decided to spend the rest of the day working on some projects to get ready for Thanksgiving.
First Project:
I need to polish the silverware. I clean my silver by using the following method: I line the bottom of my kitchen sink with aluminum foil. I sprinkle generous amounts of baking soda and salt on top of the foil and then lay my silverware down on top of that. I pour boiling water into the sink until the silverware is covered. I take a wooden spoon and "swish" the water around a little and then I let the silverware sit for about five minutes. I then take out and rinse with lukewarm water and dry. They come out gleaming! It works like a charm everytime! I will also be ironing the table linens I plan to use that day.

Second Project:
I need to go through my Thanksgiving recipes and write down all the items I will need at the grocery store. I will also sort through coupons that I can use.

Third Project:
Making Thanksgiving cards to send to family and friends. As you can see I am a very "messy" crafter! Always have been, always will be:) LOL

Hi Susan! Polishing silver is one of the jobs I want to get done this week. I recently learned of that baking soda & salt method, and I love it! I will get back to you on the cookie dough recipes I made, that you asked about.

I'm a messy crafter too :) Notoriously messy! I really like your cards. I inherited a set of silverware from my husband's grandmother. Now I'm tempted to polish is just to see the sparkle. I'm always forgetting I even own it!

Thank you for the silver polishing tips - I need to do my silverware before Thanksgiving and have heard of this method but never tried it! I am inspired to try it now!
